Host an Event Site

Each spring and fall, ARORP and the Arkansas Office of the Drug Director and their partners host the Arkansas Drug Take Back, a statewide collection drive to ensure the safe disposal of unused and expired medications and prescriptions. Only an Arkansas law enforcement agency can host a Drug Take Back collection event. The spring collection drive is always the last Saturday in April; the fall drive is always the last Saturday in October.

Register

Please fill out an event form for each location where your agency will host an Event Collection Site.
For example: if you are hosting 3 events, please fill out the form 3 times.

Plan

ARORP and the state’s Drug Take Back partners offer these general guidelines for successfully hosting and participating in the Arkansas Drug Take Back collection drives each April and October.

The Arkansas Drug Take Back initiative follows the guidelines for drug collection and disposal as set out by the Drug Enforcement Agency in federal regulations found here.

Promote

ARORP has developed a series of materials to help promote the proper monitoring, securing and disposing of expired and unused medications. Local law enforcement agencies that are coordinating Arkansas Drug Take Back collection events in April and October are encouraged to download and use this toolkit to promote your collection event.

Dropoff Receipt

Each law enforcement agency is required to deliver all collected medications (including those from permanent drop boxes) to a designated Arkansas State Police Troop site, as already provided to via email from ARORP. Teams at these State Police Troop sites will then transport medications for destruction. If you, as a local law enforcement agency, require proof that you delivered the collected medications, please print this PDF and bring it with you to the State Police Troop site for signature.
