FAQs

What is Arkansas Drug Take Back?

Arkansas Drug Take Back aims to monitor, secure and dispose of unused and expired medications from households across the state.

Since its inception, Arkansas Take Back has safely collected and disposed of over 300 tons of medication.

Monitoring prescriptions involves keeping track of prescription medications, including dosages and expiration dates.

Securing prescriptions involves storing medications in locked cabinets, drawers or containers to prevent unauthorized use.

Disposing of prescriptions involves discarding unused or expired medications by dropping them off at designated Take Back collection sites.

Participating in Arkansas Drug Take Back helps prevent prescription drug misuse and ensure that medications are disposed of properly.

The Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership (ARORP) recently launched an app on Apple and Google Play stores called ReviveAR, where you can search for collection sites by name or by ZIP code and distance.

You can also locate collection sites here.

You can dispose of prescription medications, over-the-counter medications and controlled substances.

Some medications, such as chemotherapy drugs or radioactive medications, may require special handling. In cases such as these, it’s best to check with your doctor or pharmacist before disposing of them at a collection site.

Arkansas Drug Take Back provides the opportunity to contribute to public health and safety, giving back to your state by properly disposing of unused medications.
